Fishing Report - 02/09/07
Hello from the tropics,
The Tuna action is beginning to heat up on the Pacific side of Panama. Joining Pesca Panama this week was a great group of guys hosted by captain Mike Augat. Returning guest Ted Merletti, and Mike Pell, Bill Lamadue, Rich Barr, and Chuck Ebarly were joined by first time guest Josh Reibel, Josh's father Steve, Brad Oakes, Scott Cooper, and Ken Garcia.
Extra large Yellowfin Tuna and Sailfish dominated the offshore action this week! Seeing dozens of "jumpers" a day the guys had great luck with Sails this week! Fishing with team Macho Bill, Rich and Chuck had great action on the fourth day landing 7 sail fish and 6 Cubera snapper to 65 pounds! Team Macho also had super success on XXl Tuna landing a 200 and 250 pound fish!!! Great job guys! Ted and Mike also had great luck on big Tuna landing 3 fish over 150 pounds!
The inshore action this week was hot and cold, but when it was hot it was red hot!!! Ken found out just how tough Amberjack are when he landed a monster 85 pounder! Josh and Steve worked over the inshore fish with top-water spinning gear and fly fishing landing dozens off Jacks, two Roosters and several Snook! Bill and Chuck also had great luck landing Snook on the feathers and plenty of Cubera on the bottom! Ted and Mike had a great afternoon of jig action landing Amberjacks and snapper at will!
Thanks for a great week guys we look forward to seeing you all in the future!
Keep Casting,
Captain Travis
