March 2025

Last week we hooked veteran visitor Chad up with well traveled Bob out of CA, hosted the Cellentani fam from up north, and welcomed a new bunch of Tampa guys.  Turned out to be a group that melded on the fantail over food and grog evenings, each boat having gone after their desired species during the days.  I love the fishing we offer, believe it to be some of the world’s best, but watching people get to know each other, trade tales, share laughter…. in the end, this is what makes this a pretty special job.

Everybody got their shots.  Two roosters over 50lbs were released, several good cuberas were too, three of them spanked the anglers and rocked them, even on 30 wides.  Tommy from Tampa caught his very first yellowfin tuna, 180lbs.  He’s a big strong man, but said when he returns next year he’s gonna train a little.  They caught snappers, trevally, big jacks, numerous roosters, big rainbow runners, light tackle bonito, AJs, various sharks, and more.  It was a dark moon bite this week, gave us good sized fish, not huge numbers, but where we remotely fish it’s always pretty special.
