Without exaggeration, the seasoned and well oiled crew always look for and find the best in all of our guests, having learned this is the best way to enjoy the legendary fishing days we offer, but some returners are always especially appreciated. Two weeks ago the guys from Sag Harbor arrived, fishy, fun, generous, and included a father/son team, which I love. Filling the week were three old clients out of Jersey the crew have all missed seeing the last few years, so it was an emotional homecoming. The week provided the great mixed bag we are famous for, in and offshore, some tuna, some schools of feeding greenwater predators, and Declan and son shared doubles on cubera and rooster as did others. Where? Where else is this commonplace?
Last week a bunch of my personal favorite guys on the planet arrived and gave ’em hell. BroT stroked some good guitar blues on the fantail evenings, crazy talent. Jay, John, Mike, Shawn kept the good stories coming all week. Shawn caught a 400lb marlin, Dan and Chuck and T fyfished, Jack caught everything on a goofy surface lure, Vince chunk baited a huge sail off the bottom. A variety of sharks added to the 29 species, and the last few inshore hours Friday four boats took roughly 130 jacks on poppers and short of exhaustion more than available time, simply said no mas, we’ll be back, and headed for the airport. Pauly never stopped smiling (or talking).
